OUR PRINCIPLES:
• The four fundamental language skills in Turkish education are taught together.
• Turkish education is conducted in a natural environment.
• All subjects are utilized in Turkish education.
• While teaching Turkish rules, since Atatürk School provides initial education, the inductive method is used. When teaching the rules of the language, a deductive approach is followed, progressing from simple to complex, concrete to abstract, and known to unknown.
• A close relationship is established between Turkish basic language skills and teaching activities.
• A thematic approach is followed in the selection of topics.
• It is essential to motivate and encourage students to use Turkish correctly and properly.
• To foster a love for the Turkish language (motivation and encouragement), the richness of our basic methods and techniques listed below is always tested for effectiveness, and necessary changes are made to ensure they are as effective as possible.
OUR METHODS AND TECHNIQUES:
• Students are encouraged to actively participate in the lesson and are given the confidence to use their language skills.
• Opportunities are provided for students to use the language patterns they have learned.
• Reading texts are selected to be authentic and genuine.
• A variety of teaching activities are incorporated when planning lessons.
• Information provided is transferred to daily life.
• To develop language skills, programs celebrating national days such as April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day are organized. Turkish stage activities (poetry, theatre, monologues, choir, etc.) are used to enhance the child’s self-confidence in front of an audience.
• The GROUP METHOD is used in the classroom, taking into account individual differences to help students with different levels of understanding gain confidence within the group. Every child participates in activities, is given a task suitable for their level, and no child is excluded.
• A Turkish text projected on a screen, selected from primary school Turkish basic source books, is read together, then read individually and in sections.
